So Excited to.......

Announce that we are having a little baby GIRL! I can't believe that I am almost half way there. I went and had my ultrasound yesterday with my sister Bev (Tate couldn't make it cause of work :( but it was so much fun waiting and finally seeing the little girly inside me! I have been totally convinced that it was a boy this whole time, that seeing it was a girl, really SHOCKED me. I of course started crying and giggling and crying some more. I soon after took a pic of the little Miss and sent it to Tate...he called right after that while we were still getting ultrasounded and was SO EXCITED!!! We are due Oct. 18th right smack dab in the middle of guiding season, but what do ya do? Just roll with the punches right? Telling Kasen wasn't as exciting as I had hoped.....I told him that he was going to have a baby sister and he said..."I know mom". Recap: A few months ago, we were getting ready for bed, saying our prayers. Kasen immediately stopped and said..Mom, my baby sister is crying. I was very taken back and asked him, "What did you say?" he said, "Mom, my baby sister is crying, we need to say a prayer for her to make her feel better." Tears started coming in my eyes, so we said our prayers and said a special prayer for Kasen's baby sister. So, I guess I shouldn't be surprised when Kasen really isn't surprised it is a baby sister, He knew it all along:) Anyway, we couldn't be happier!! I am just so blessed to have a healthy baby girl and a Big healthy growing 2 1/2 year old. Life is great. We are moving in a few days and that of course is a little bit hectic but we will be up in Idaho and starting a new little life there for a while:) Yeah!

I already love her so much...Now we can zone in on girl names, and don't have one we really love yet, good thing we still have a while to decide:) Can't believe I am going to have 2 kids!!

Fun with Family

We have been having a fun time spending time with cousins and Grandma and Grandpa Sorensen. I guess I should explain what new is going on with us. We are Moving once again...I know nobody is really that shocked:) Tate is able to work up in Idaho on the Elk Ranch that he loves so much during the summer, and then guide again in the Fall, so we are moving to Firth, Idaho in about 2 weeks! And I am really excited. I think that we definately will be there for at least another 6 months, so it's good to know what we are up to for at least that long:) I will be able to play with Kasen outside and do alot of fun things in our little place that we have up there. So in the mean time, Tate is able to get a bit of work in Roosevelt with his bro-in-law while we play! We went and stayed a few days with Linda and played with Isabelle, we did alot of fun things. Linda is so good to have a little while everyday where she has school with Isabelle and I really love when Kasen is able to be there too. Then we drove from Provo, to Talmage to spend a little time with Tate and his parents before we are going back down to Orderville to stay, go to my grandma's funeral, and play with Bev while she is visiting! We are excited. And a week or so ago, while we were in Orderville Tate once again got some horses from my Uncle Dellas...seems like everytime we go there, he gets one:) But Kasen thinks that this is HIS horse and is always needing to go and check on it and see how it's doing. He is quite the little helper. He has been helping Grandpa change the sprinklers, ride the 4-wheeler and helping Tate do whatever else they are doing. It's been fun..we are headed back south in a few days, so we have to get as much in as we can!!

Kasen with his hat and gloves he has to wear. Feeding the cows.

Isabelle and Kasen at the museum, they always have so much fun together!

Well, I know that Mother's Day was a few days ago, and believe me I started this post a few days ago also:) I just wanted to give a shout out to a few of the WONDERFUL and most amazing mothers that I know and am proud to call FAMILY and Friends.

I absolutely LOVE being a mother! I am very lucky to have such a wonderful son who keeps me on my toes. A son who gives me kisses and hugs who tells me he loves, someone I can read bedtime stories to, a son who makes me laugh and smile every single day, a son who is so much like his father its almost scary (he is such a tease!) I am loving being a Mom and so grateful for the other mothers in my life, ones that I can follow their wonderful examples of Love and patience.

My sisters are definately some of the BEST Mom's that I know...they are so much fun and I love them so much. I love when they also take Kasen and mother him and teach him things that I can't teach him. I am so lucky.

A few of my BESTIES from high school are now mothers, and others are soon to follow...I love sharing stories of our kids with them, and being able to be in the same stage of life as they are. I love raising my kids while they are raising theirs, it's fun to still be BEST Friends and still be able to share things that we are doing in our lives!

Betty Chamberlain...you know I just think that she is one of the most amazing mothers in the whole wide world! She is so much fun and loving and so willing to help with me with whatever I need! I love her so much and so GRATEFUL for her and what kind of person she is!

My own MOM...what can I say? She is the perfect example of perseverance, love, patience, selflessness, and FUN! She is always keeping busy doing things for other people especially her family. She is honestly the most un-selfish person that I know, and I pray and hope that I will be able to emulate her example during my mothering years:) She is absolutely Amazing!

And my mother in law...Well, she obviously is a GREAT mother for raising Tate to be such an amazing person!! Pretty biased but she did a great job, and is such a wonderful grandmother! I am really so lucky, because I really do love my relationship with my mother in law and the friendship that we have formed over these short 4 1/2 years! She is wonderful:)

Well, another note, my grandma passed away today and she raised a family of 5 boys and now has lots of grandkids and great grandkids. I am just reflective on the type of person that I want to become and my Grandma Wanda is one of those people that I hope to be like. She was very sincere and kind and always always adiment about us knowing how important family is and how much she loved her family. We never left without a kiss on the lips and her telling us how precious we were and how much she loved us. I just really am very blessed to have the role models of mothers in my life and feel very loved from my Heavenly Father to be a mother myself!!

Benefit Tournament

I have been wanting to blog about this weekend for a while now, but just haven't found the time, so now I have a little relaxing Sunday, I am going to do it:) When I was in high school I played against a girl named Kiana Livingston. She is a few years younger than me, but being from such a small town, we pretty much know everyone in our region, especially if we play sports. I competed against her in most everything, she was an all-american in all the sports. Anyway, she has just been a friend ever since high school. A few months ago she asked if I would be willing to play in a basketball tourny to benefit her 4 year old niece (Tayleah) who has cancer and is going through treatments...I of course was all aboard. The weekend came and it was fun because Tate got on the team with Tay's dad and had a blast! Much to my surprise and excitement my friend and former CEU teammate was playing on our team too, she is from Milford and also friends with Kiana so I was very excited to be able to play with her again. It was the most fulfilling, wonderful, emotional, honoring thing that I have ever been so blessed to be a part of. It was quite the big deal....small towns from all of Southern Utah came together to support this family in need, and support this little girl who has inspired so many! I am so so blessed to be from a small town because of this reason. People CARE about you as a person and individual. We had such a fun time. We played 7 games over 2 days, and boy was I sore, but it was awesome. I honestly really cannot describe the feelings that came over as Tate's team won the championship and Tayleah ran across the gym floor to hug her dad and the crowd giving a standing ovation as he hoisted her up in the air.....such a little hero! It just brought so much perspective to my life as I looked and listened to the story of this 4 year old little girl who has battled so many trials in her life, and overcome many obstacles already, all while keeping a good attitude and not allowing her family to ever ask "why". I can not imagine as a parent how I would feel to watch my child go through something like that. But the great thing about these people, is that they know that the Gospel is True...that Christ overcame all our trials. It was a great testimony builder for me to watch the examples of this 4 year old and her Faith in Christ and in the Atonement of our Savior and how she exemplified Him in her life!

My team with our shirts for winning:)

The team with the Girl of the hour...Tay!

MALLORY! She is so great...I played against her in high school then she came and played at CEU I only got to play 1 year with her, but had the best time!!!

Kasen and Tayleah....they became quick friends(Kasen loves anyone who will play with him or give him any sort of attention) but she just still holds a special little spot in his heart!!! It was adorable!

The Girl who made it all happen....She is so great and I am so glad to know her and her family!!! Dont mind my red face That's what being really out of shape does to me especially after playing basketball!
